Segway Technology Co. Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as "Segway Powersports") is an innovative company in the field of Powersports design and manufacturing, included but not limited to All-terrain vehicles, Utility Side-by-Sides, Sports Side-by-Sides and On-road vehicles. Approaching the international market from a long-term perspective, Segway Powersports has numerous self-developed patented designs including a hybrid powertrain, internal combustion engines, a smart IOV system, advanced vehicle designs etc. Segway Powersports is a high-tech enterprise integrating a superior supply chain and its own factories. The company collaborates and supplies technologies to the world's leading companies such as Ford, BMW, GM, Ferrari, SEAT, Intel, Google, Amazon and others.
In 2018, a separate division of Segway Technology Co. Ltd. was established for research, development, production, sale and after-sales service of Powersports products. Enormous technological potential, including the main off-road development center in the USA, forms the high-quality basis of the new top-of-the-line Segway innovative off-road machines.
SEGWAY HISTORY
1999
American businessman, engineer and one of America's most successful inventors Dean Lawrence Kamen founds Segway Inc. in the USA.
2001
Segway Inc. is building a factory and headquarters in Bedford, New Hampshire, US.
2002
Segway PTs go on sale to the public through Amazon.com. Segway PT was named "Best new scientific invention of the year" in 2002 by Popular Science Magazine.
2003
Segway signs a prestigious agreement with DARPA - the US Department of Defense's Agency for advanced research projects that invests in new technologies important to US National Security.
2004
Four-wheel ATV is launched. Segway's concept four-wheel ATV prototype "Centaur" is featured in TIME Magazine as one of the "Best Inventions of 2004".
2005
Cross-Terrain Transporter is launched. Segway announces its first Segway Cross-Terrain Transporter (XT) and Golf Transporter (GT), which is equipped with extended-range lithium ion batteries and features all-terrain tires, a robust fender design and specially tuned software for riding over varied terrain.
2006
The second generation of the Segway PT model brings InfoKey wireless control and the revolutionary LeanSteer technology - turning the handlebars to the sides.
2008
More than 100 PT Segways were used during the 2008 Summer Olympics in Beijing. The main arguments for their use are zero emissions and high respect for the environment.
2009
New Security Patroller is introduced. After incorporating the specific input of experienced law enforcement and security professionals, Segway introduces two new Patroller models that provide public safety personnel with features that ensure greater visibility and improve community policing and security programs. Patrollers have since served in the security forces of the United States, Australia, Canada, the United Kingdom, Germany, Saudi Arabia and many other countries.
2011
Segway Inc. expands its business model and forms the "Segway Experience Center Program", which offers tourist excursions in cooperation with Segway Inc. It is now also becoming an authorized travel agency.
2012
Segway launches ARTI, its latest Robotics Mobility Platform (RMP) prototype.
2014
Segway launches its first three-wheel personal transportation device, the SE-3 Patroller, for the public safety market. It boasts Segway quality and reliability as well as innovative anti-tip technology.
2015
Segway and Ninebot Inc. complete strategic combination. The combined company will focus on research and development, manufacturing, sales and service in the transportation industry.
2018
Segway goes off-road. Segway Technology Co. Ltd. establishes a separate division in the USA for research, development, production and sale of powersports products.
2019
Segway Powersports releases three product series of All-terrain Vehicles with hybrid powertrain at EICMA in Milan, marching into the powersports industry.
2021
Segway Powersports enters the off-road vehicles market in Hungary.
